How was your weekend? I hope it was filled with sunshine and good food. We had a lot of sun to soak up with walks along the Mississippi, but just enough cool weather for cuddling with this one guy I hadn’t seen in nearly two months. Oh yeah, and we signed a lease. So, it looks like almost three years of long-distance will be coming to an end in June and I don’t think I’ll be shedding any tears over that.

Now I have visions of sofas and curtains and dressers swimming through my head as this is my first place to decorate all on my own. The first order of action? Purchasing this beautiful bedding – the perfect compliment to my espresso, grandfather-made bed (and a vast improvement from my PB Teen bedding…). Best of all? It’s boyfriend-approved.

How much decorating input do you seek from your guy?

I’m in love with this simple, tailored and pleated dress. A flattering waistline is classic, but the unique neckline makes it special. I’m partial to the Fiesta color. Why call it red when the dress clearly says party?

I have a hard time spending money on things like office trinkets that seem somewhat unnecessary. At least, you know, compared to all of my daily dresses. Those are absolute must-haves. Am I the only one that feels this way? Well, I’m thinking it’s time to bite the bullet. I need some organization and it might as well be pretty! A few photo boxes for organizing thoughtful greeting cards and letters (I just can’t part with them!) and magazine holders for the glossies that are too pretty to toss.

How do you keep your cards and mags in line?

I have yet to partake in the maxi trend, but this dress is certainly making a strong case for long dresses in the summertime. Don’t you love the bold pattern?

It’s taking my every ounce of self-control to resist splurging on this springtime Anna Sui shift. It just looks so lonely sitting in my shopping cart, ya know? Because clothes have feelings and this dress screams “happy,” not “lonely.”
