if you’re a bird, I’m a bird

2 Feb

Are feather extensions catching on where you live? The trend seems to have exploded last summer and fall. At least, that’s when a lot of my Austin friends left ACL with colorful feathers attached to their strands courtesy of FeatherLuxe and the like. In the South’s typical fashion, the feather trend has just made its way to Memphis and I can’t help but roll my eyes just a tad. I just can’t imagine committing THREE MONTHS to a trend that is likely to fade before the feathers fall. Not to mention oh, I don’t know, job interviews and wanting to maintain at least a smidge of respect from professors in my tiny classes.

Instead, I’m embracing feathers and my love for peacocks in my ever-expanding collection of statement jewelry. I purchased this first pair about a month ago and have practically worn them out. They always get plenty of compliments and excel at taking any outfit from day to night. Best of all, no commitment!

What do you think? Could you commit to feather extensions or are you sticking to jewelry?

Love peacock earrings! I also have a peacock headband that is a fun alternative! ๐Ÿ™‚

I love anything with feathers. I actually don’t mind the little feather flair in the hair but I understand what you mean. You can get pretty crazy with some long feather earrings. I have an amazing pair my mom gave me for Christmas. And peacock feathers are the best of all! Thanks for stopping by my blog the other day! xo Samantha

I haven’t seen the trend here yet. But I probably would just clip a feather in my hair or something. (How do you wash your hair with a feather in it?)
